Understanding and Applying Relational Frame Theory
In the free downloads for the book Understanding and Applying RFT, you’ll find our case conceptualization tables, a visualization of levels of functional analysis from self to systems, and a compilation of case conceptualization questions to ask yourself in conducting functional analyses.
*Free Chapter* Chapter 9— Applying RFT to Create Cooperative Contexts for Behavior Change is one of our favorite chapters of the book. It is both literally and figuratively the center of the book and our view of the purpose of all our work. In this chapter we extend earlier discussions of prosociality, psychological flexibility, and social justice, identifying that one metric by which we should examine our speaking and listening behaviors is how well we establish cooperative, nurturing environments for behavior change. In this chapter we define and discuss key repertoires for cooperation—curiosity, empathy, compassion, self-compassion and humility—and the importance for behavior analysts to cultivate these skills for themselves, as well as to support their clients in learning these skills.
Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way
Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way is an ACT self-help book that focuses on identifying what you care about and creating a plan for working towards meaningful goals—that plan is the Mindful Action Plan (also available in the free downloads for the book), and it’s a great framework for applying ACT and performance management to yourself!
*Free Chapter* Chapter 2—Unfolding the MAP—provides an overview with exercises for you to get started using this tool today!
